Tabor College recognized in college rankings

Tabor College was featured in the new and expanded U.S. News Best Colleges 2020 rankings that were released to the public Sept. 9.

Tabor was ranked in three categories: No. 6 for “Best Undergraduate Teaching,” No. 24 for “Top Performers on Social Mobility,” and ranked No. 49 among the 88 schools in the Regional Colleges Midwest.

“Social Mobility,” a new category this year, recognized how well colleges serve low-income students.

“Being recognized for the 16th year in a row by U.S. News as a top-tier school is an honor,” President Jules Glanzer said.

Frank Johnson, executive vice president of academics and compliance, said the high ranking reflects the commitment of Tabor’s faculty. “Students have as good an opportunity to learn and be world changers at Tabor as anywhere, and leverage our new promise/advantage language,” he said. “It’s the basis of the Tabor Advantage.”

The same week, Washington Monthly released its annual college rankings. The publication ranked Tabor No. 38 among Midwest colleges for, “2019 Best Bang for the Buck.”
