Tabor College excited about adding Ratzlaff as Director of Communications

Tabor College welcomes Don Ratzlaff as director of communications effective July 1.

“I am thrilled that Don will be joining the Tabor staff,” said President Jules Glanzer. “For 40 years, he has been writing about Tabor. Now he will be writing for Tabor, clearly communicating our message.”

Ratzlaff, a 1978 Tabor graduate, has been editor and co-owner of the Hillsboro Free Press for the past 20 years. Prior to that role, he edited and was associated for two decades with The Christian Leader, the Mennonite Brethren denominational magazine.

“I want to contribute to Tabor’s mission at this stage of my career,” Ratzlaff said. “Given my ties to Tabor and my desire to give something back to the college, I welcome this opportunity.”

In this position, Ratzlaff will give oversight to the Communications Office and provide leadership for publications, media relations and activities that promote the college to its internal and external publics.

He and wife Gayla, who graduated from Tabor in 1979, have two married children.

“Don is a clear thinker, gifted writer and effective communicator,” Glanzer said. “Over the years he has been a strong supporter of Tabor. I am delighted that he will now use his gifts to communicate the Tabor message.”
