Tabor College Choir home concert planned for April 3

The Tabor College Concert Choir Spring Tour found students spending their spring break March 19-27 performing at eight churches in western Kansas.

Upon returning from the tour, the choir will present its home concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at the Hillsboro Menno?nite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

The choir is under the direction of Brad Vogel, professor of choral music. The theme for the concert series is ?Magnificat.?

?The texts of our songs explore the different ways in which God is glorified in Scripture, as well as in our lives,? Vogel said.

The concert repertoire for the tour performances is varied, with music featuring standard works by Byrd, Sweelinck and Sch?tz, and a range of contemporary sacred works by Z. Randall Stroope, John Rutter, Daniel Moe and Randall Thompson.

Hymn arrangements by Mennonite composers J. Harold Moyer and Jonah Kliewer are featured, as well as an originalcomposition by Vogel.
