Artwork by Tabor College artist Shin-hee Chin, assistant professor for art and graphic design, is now on display at her new Web site gallery, www.shinheechin.com.

?The purpose of my Web site is to promote my artwork as well as Tabor College,? Chin said. ?Indeed, I have long wanted to construct my own Web site. Although my Web site still needs some refinement, I am grateful that I was able to finish it with limited knowledge on Web construction.?

Professor Chin, who teaches Drawing I, Painting II and Basic Design II (color) at Tabor, became a student of Web design before creating her own site this past summer during an art residency at the Red Barn Museum in Lindsborg.

The new site contains stunning photos of her artwork, curriculum vitae, and an artist?s statement describing her philosophy and creative process.

A nationally recognized artist, Chin won ?Best of Show? at the Fiber Focus 2007 exhibit in St. Louis, Mo., and was one of three finalists for the prestigious 2008 Lillian Elliott Award, an international honor sponsored by the Textile Society of America.

Her work ?Choon San? (Spring Mountain) was accepted for the Chinese Quilt National ?09 Exhibit, and was on display in the Cultural Arts Center in China through Sept. 7.

Other honors and showings include:

n ?Quilt National 09,? Inter?national Juried Art Show, Dairy Barn Arts Center, Athens, Ohio.

n ?Choon San? was published in the book, ?Quilt National 2009: The Best of Contemporary Quilts.? The photo image of ?Choon San? appeared with an article titled ?Thirty Year History of Quilt National? in Fiber Arts magazine, Summer 2009 issue.

n ?Caleb? was accepted for Nothing New: Fiber Art from Recycled Materials, National Juried Exhibit, the Textile Center, Joan Mondale Gallery, Minneapolis, Minn.

n ?Comfort and Peace? was accepted for honorable mention at Surface Design Members Juried Show, Kansas City, Mo.

n Artwork on display at Fiber Focus 2009, National Juried Show, Art St. Louis gallery, St. Louis, Mo., September to October 2009.

n Selected semifinalist, The 2009 AQS Quilt Show & Contest, American Quilters Society Invitational show, National Juried Show, Knoxville, Ky.

In addition to her teaching duties at Tabor, Chin is working on several artworks for the 10th Japan International Quilt Show and the Houston International Quilt Festival in 2010.
