Tabor 60+ to end spring semester with party and Hickenpoopers

The last Tabor College 60+ Learning in Retirement program of the spring semester, ?Year-end Party with the Hickenpoopers,? will contain so much light-hearted music and fun that the show will begin at an earlier time: 9:40 a.m. Monday, May 5, in the Wohlge?muth Music Education Center.

Comedians ?Bruno and Manirva Hickenpooper,? (not their real names) will present a series of tongue-in-cheek skits titled, ?Wit and Wisdom for Aging with Humor and Grace.?

?Although at their age planning ahead for anything can be kaput, Manirva and Bruno hope to be up and around for the party,? said Connie Isaac, program coordinator.

In addition to the Hicken?poopers, western music will be performed by ?Three Docs and a Quack,? a name concocted by the band?s members, Tabor College Vice President Lawrence Ressler, professors Bruce Heyen and Norm Hope, and the executive director of Hillsboro Development Corp., Clint Seibel.

Popcorn and soda pop will be served at tables decorated with John Deere toys.

?The Learning in Retirement group is fun-loving and always has a good time at these events,? she said. ?It?s been a wonderful year of educational and informative programs and to top it all off, we want to celebrate life together.?

The public is welcome to attend all Learning in Retire?ment programs. Fees are $3 per session or $15 per semester ($28 per couple).

Registration and discount cards for lunch in the cafeteria will be available at the door during the half hour before the meeting.
