Students picked for state groups

Several musicians from Marion High School and Middle School have been selected for statewide performing groups.

MHS had three students chosen through audition for the South Central Music Educators Association honor band and chorus. They will perform next month in Wichita.

Landon Leiker is?first-chair trumpet, Sarah Gutersloh, third-chair trombone and E.J. Obermeyer, a bass in the choir.

Six choral music students from MMS represented their school at the South Central Kansas Music Educators mini-convention honor choir? Saturday, Nov. 6.

Participating were Jacob Baldwin, Quinton Hett, Miran Stephenson, Tyler Nuefeld, Shyla Harris, Elizabeth Myer, McKenzee Remmers and Hayden Beardsley.

The choir is comprised of more than 200 students from the region. Students rehearsed all day with a clinician and then presented a concert at 3:30 p.m. in the Andover Central school gymnasium.
