SNC Valentine?s event draws 75-plus

More than 75 people enjoyed a ?Valentine?s Treat,? Monday, Feb. 15, which included a dessert banquet and an evening of entertainment by the Hillsboro High School vocal ensemble, Spirit-N-Celebration.

Individual performers and the entire ensemble sang a variety of Valentine-themed songs, while Jordan Riggs and Elise Heyen provided piano music.

Other performers were Nathan Vogel and Carly Weisbeck singing ?Lucky,? with Brad Vogel on the piano. Nathan Vogel also sang, ?The Bird and the Worm.?

?Grow Old With Me? was another selection that entertained the audience. It was sung by Dakota Kaufman with Daniel Kenney on guitar.

Kenney then sang, ?Drops of Jupiter.?

Luke Moore and Candace Weinbrenner sang, ?A Whole New World,? and Lynn Just, director of the ensemble, accompanied singers on piano.

The Spirit-N-Celebration ensemble performed four songs: ?A Daisy A Day,? ?My Girl,? ?One Fine Day? and ?I Can?t Help Falling in Love.?

The event will help the ensemble raise money for their annual fall trip to Kansas City, where they perform at the Renaissance Festival and with St. Monica?s Gospel Choir.
