Heidi Schroeder, a Hillsboro High School senior, received a $500 scholarship May 14 from Mark Hinca with radio stration KJIL (105.7 FM). Standing behind her are parents Steve and Penni Schroeder. Hinca said the major criterion for the scholarship is the intention to pursue a career in Christian ministries. ?Heidi submitted a statement of faith and shared her intended field of Christian ministry studies and motivation for that pursuit,? Hinca said. ?She also submitted grade transcripts and a letter of recommendation from her pastor.? This is the second year KJIL has awarded multiple $500 scholarships.
