In less than one month, summer vacation will be wrapping for some area students. But for others, classes won?t begin until early September.
Peabody-Burns USD 398 will start classes after Labor Day while other schools will open their doors in mid to late August.
Durham-Hillsboro-Lehigh USD 410 begins classes Aug. 13 with registration for all grades from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the high school commons.
Most parents should have received enrollment packets for returning students by the end of this month, a school official said.
New students in USD 410 will be asked to enroll at their individual school building, but not on Aug. 5. The only exception would be students in kindergarten who went through round-up.
Marion-Florence USD 408 will be enrolling students from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 5 in the high school commons.
Packets of information will be provided at the time of enrollment, a school official said.
New rural students should report their location for transportation purposes and other new students are asked to enroll at their individual buildings.
Classes begin Aug. 18 in Marion.
Peabody-Burns USD 398 enrollment will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25 in the elementary and high school buildings.
New-student enrollment is from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 26. Students can also check for specific grade level times.
USD 398 classes begin Sept. 8.
Registration at Centre USD 397 in Lost Springs is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 11-12 with new-student enrollment also from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13.
Classes start for Centre students Aug. 20.
An open house for kindergarten through fourth grade is planned at the elementary school in Lost Springs starting at 7 p.m. Aug. 27.
Students at Canton-Galva USD 419 will enroll from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13 at the district office, 109 S. Main St. in Canton. Classes begin Aug. 25.
Goessel USD 411 enrollment is from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 12 and 8 a.m. to noon, Aug. 13.
Goessel student will return to classes Aug. 27.
New students are welcome to tour their respective buildings in each of the school districts; however most school officials ask that parents call ahead.
Important dates in all districts can be found on the Kansas High School Activities Associa?tion Web site.
KSHHA determines the earliest dates when practices and activities can begin.
