Program offers information on preschool, kindergarten

Families interested in learning more about Marion County preschool programs and summer preparation for kindergarten may want to attend the early childhood program, Ready, Set, School, from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

?You can pick the location nearest to you,? said Lori Soo Hoo, Parents As Teachers.

?We?ll be holding the events simultaneously at Marion Elementary School and Hillsboro Elementary School,? she said.

Those planning to come are asked to go to the front doors of either building.

At this informal event, parents and guardians will be able to browse information tables covering the topics of preschool, kindergarten, parent involvement, health, birth to three services and more.

?We will provide free childcare on site and a sandwich supper,? she said.

The first 50 families in each location will also receive a free backpack filled with school supplies.

The event is made possible by a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation.

For more information or if someone needs childcare, call 620-947-4041.
