Principal Honeck to retire

Hillsboro High School principal Dale Honeck announced he will retire at the end of the current school year.

Consequently, the Board of Education for Unified School District 410 approved his resignation at its regular meeting Monday evening.

?We owe you a couple of thanks for a couple of big things you?ve done for us this year,? board president Rod Koons told Honeck prior to the vote. ?You epitomize that you care about your kids and your school.?

Superintendent Doug Hux?man updated the board on the timeline for facility improvements.

The district?s transportation services have already moved to a temporary location, Huxman said.

He added the weightroom and central district and Hills?boro Elementary School of?fices will also relocate before construction begins Dec. 1.

USD 410 and Tabor College are working on the draft of an interlocal agreement that would establish parameters for the projected football facilities.

?This is a step in the right direction so we can move ahead on this,? Koons said.
