Artist Michael Phillips of Hillsboro will be featured at the next Learning in Retirement session titled, ?You Are the Potter, I am the Clay.?
The session will begin at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, and will feature Phillips shaping a clay pot during the session.
A graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in fine arts, Phillips is a teacher and regularly does mission trips to Thailand. He has been teaching ceramics this semester at Tabor College.
While Phillips is working in clay, wife Naomi will provide readings and soloist Holly Swartzendruber and pianist Marlene Fast will perform. Tabor student Micah Leake will sing two of Swartzen?druber?s selections.
?Seeing and hearing, we?ll be drawn to a new sense of relationship with our Creator,? said Connie Isaac, LIR coordinator.
