Plans set for TC homecoming

Tabor College Home­coming weekend brings excitement and tradition with activities for the community and alumni to enjoy Oct. 20-21.

The first event will be the Tabor College Golf Classic Friday at Reflection Ridge Golf Club in Wichita.

Later that day, the Festi­val Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita where the Alumni Merit Award and Alumni Medallion Award recipients will be honored.

Druber’s Donut Shop will be giving free doughnuts at 10 p.m. to anyone wearing Tabor Blue.

Saturday’s first public event will be the Home­coming Music Fest at 10 a.m. in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center Rehearsal Hall. Kids are welcome in the Campus Recreation Center at 9 a.m. for Kids Zone activities.

Other events include the dedication and reception for the Katie Funk Wiebe Writing Center from 10 a.m. to noon on the main floor of the H.W. Lohrenz building and an 11 a.m. presentation of “Science in the Extreme at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station” by Ken Ratzlaff in Room 103 in the Solomon L. Loewen Natural Science Center.

The traditional Dutch lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and continues until 1:30 p.m. Pizza is available as a family-friendly option.

Tabor College football will take on KCAC opponent Kansas Wesleyan University at 2 p.m.

Friday and Saturday performances of “Peter and the Starcatcher” begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the H. W. Lohrenz building.

“It is one of the most exciting days here on our campus all year,” said Rod Hamm, director of alumni.
