Peabody-Burns students preparing for ?Fiddler on the Roof, Nov. 14-15

Peabody-Burns High School Music and Drama departments will present the musical, ?Fiddler On the Roof,? at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Brown Building Concert Hall.

?Students have been working hard during rehearsals learning lines, music, choreography, and staging,? said Stephen Glover, instrumental music instructor and production director.

Set in 1905, ?Fiddler on the Roof,? takes place in Anatevka, a small Jewish village in Russia. The story revolves around the dairyman Tevye and his attempts to preserve his family’s traditions in the face of a changing world.

Cast members include Chris Loucks as Tevye; Shelby Elliott as wife Golde; Bethanny Loucks, daughter Tzeitel; Traylee Woodruff, daughter Hodel; Chandra Rippe, daughter Chava; Danielle Savage, daughter Shprintze; Kaitlyn Preheim, daughter Bielke, Joshua Klarmann, the tailor Motel; Martin Hofkamp, the student Perchik and the beggar Nachum; Sarah Hofkamp, the matchmaker, Yente, and also as Fruma-Sarah; Curtis Frederick, the butcher Lazor Wolf; Sean Jones, innkeeper Mordcha; Isaac Burnett, the Rabbi; Seth Topham, son Mendel; Matthew Scott as bookseller Avram; Brian O?Neal, the Russian constable; Brody Kyle, the Russian Fyedka; Derek Schmidt, the Russian Sasha; Nicholas Preheim, the Russian Josef; Kortney Foth, Grandma Tzeitzel and Rifka; Julie Wedel as Motel?s mother Shaindel, and Jenipher Huls as Mirala.

Chorus members portraying the villagers include Emma Charles, Christa Elliott, Tracy Henry, Brianna Larsen, Paige Lewis, Kayla Partridge, Andrew Sheffler, Ashley Weems, and Mackenzie Young.

Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door, and are available from cast members, Glover or the Peabody-Burns High School office, 810 N. Sycamore, Peabody.
