Paulus named student life v.p. at Tabor College

Tabor College president Jules Glanzer has announced the hiring of Jim Paulus as the next vice president for student life.

Paulus, a 1994 Tabor alum with a bachelor?s of arts degree, also holds a master?s of science from California Baptist Univer?sity in Riverside, Calif.

He comes to Tabor most recently as a counselor and the director of disability services for California Baptist. It is a position he has held since 2004.

?I am delighted that Jim Paulus has accepted our invitation to lead Student Life at Tabor,? Glanzer said. ?I was impressed with his ability to connect with people and his understanding of the issues of student life on a small college campus,. Because of his previous experience with Tabor he understands us and fits us well.?

In accepting the post, Paulus noted with excitement the upcoming opportunity.

?My wife and I are looking forward to returning to campus, as Tabor greatly impacted both of our lives,? he said. ?I am excited to once again be a part of the Tabor community and its mission in preparing students for what God has called them.?

Paulus, along with his wife Laura and their four children Sarah 8, Emily 7, Aaron 4, Ruthie 2, will begin the transition to Hillsboro this summer.

Paulus will officially start his duties June 1, working initially from California, before arriving on campus June 20.

Paulus fills the vacancy left by Eric Codding, who left Tabor to take a position at Eastern Mennonite University.
