Nine from MHS FFA attend state

Nine members of the Marion/Florence FFA Chapter attended the 82nd annual State FFA Convention June 2-4 in Manhattan.

More than 1,500 FFA members and guests from around the state attended the gathering. Participants listened to the retiring addresses of the state FFA officers, heard from National FFA Secretary Bethany Bohenblust, and listened to several motivational speakers.

Delegates from FFA chapters in the state participated in business sessions and selected state officers for the upcoming year.

FFA members from Marion participated in a leadership workshop and attended all six sessions of the convention.

The Marion/Florence FFA chapter was recognized for placing in the gold division (top 10 percent of all chapters) in the community development division, and in the silver division (top 20 percent of all chapters) in the chapter award areas of chapter development and student development.

Members also toured the Kansas Artificial Breeding Service Unit, as well as the Veterinary Medicine Hospital at Kansas State University.

FFA members attending from Marion were Adam Cope, Mitch Ragland, Adam Molleker, Shayla Rahe, Andrew Huber, Corey Shields, Montana Percell, Jacob Cope and Aaron Molleker.
