MHS FFA places first in Greenhand division

Members of the Marion-Florence FFA competed at the South Central District FFA Meat Evaluation Career Development Event on Wed­nesday, Feb. 8. Marion placed first in the Green­hand division of the contest.

Competing in the Green­hand division for Marion were Peyton Ensey, who placed second, Cassie Meyer who placed fourth, and Shelby Cairns who placed seventh.

Participants were required to identify 30 different retail cuts of meat from beef, pork and lamb species. Chieftain Meats in Kiowa hosted the event for the South Central District FFA.

Members competing from Marion in the fresh­man/Greehand division were Ensey, Meyer, Cairns, Cade Alleven and Luke Dawson.
