MHS FFA officers attend chapter leadership retreat

Officers of the Marion-Florence FFA Chapter met for their annual leadership retreat in Dillon, Colo., July 30 to Aug. 4.

While there, officers planned the chapter?s program of activities for the upcoming school year, worked on leadership and teamwork skills, developed goals and a chapter vision statement, and practiced parliamentary procedure. Each officer led a work session and helped prepare meals for the group.

Time was set aside for recreation, which included swimming, racquetball, mountain climbing, a trip to Copper Moun?tain and Breckenridge, and seeing the mountains in the Summit County area.

One highlight for the trip included a half-day raft trip down a stretch of the Arkansas River through Brown?s Canyon near Buena Vista.

Officers participating in the retreat were Eliza?beth Meyer, Aidan Cairns, Ezra Darnall, Kait?lyn Goebel, Cade Harms,and Carley Stapleford. Adviser Mark Meyer accompanied the group.
