Marion Elementary School has named its ?Students of the Month? for October. Each month the regular classroom teachers in grades kindergarten through sixth grade select students for recognition, said Rod Garman, MES principal. The students receive gift certificates to Carlson?s Grocery Store (free movie rental), Casey?s General Store (free pizza slice), Ampride (free candy bar), The Big Scoop (free ice cream cone), USD 408-Marion, (free three-person swim), and Sherbowl Lanes ($1 off open bowling). The criteria used to select the students, Garman said, are the three ?Guidelines for Success? at MES: Be responsible, be respectful and do your best.
