Marion FFAers place second in district competition

Students from Marion High School received second place in the South Central District Agriculture Me­chan­ical and Technical Sys­tems Career Develop­ment Event on Tuesday, April 11, at McPherson High School.

The theme of the contest was material-handling systems. Contestants were required to complete several tests and practicums over related activities. Activities included reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams, identifying parts and troubleshooting a skid steer loader, completing a mig welding exercise, a small engine measuring and tool ID exercise, a written test, and a team activity which involved a sprayer.

Individually for Marion, Cade Harms placed fifth, with the rest of the team placing in the top 15 percent to receive the second-place overall place.

Other team members competing for Marion were Ryan Cochran, Jeremy Hett, Bryce Shults, Dan Hinton, Antone Vinduska and Cameron Steward.
