Marion FFA sixth at Ag Communications CDE

Marion-Florence FFA members took sixth place at the South Central District FFA Agriculture Sales Career Development Event on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

The event was hosted by the Marion FFA chapter at Marion Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

Participants in the Agriculture Sales Event were required to take a written test, develop and present a sales presentation for an agricultural product, as well as present a team sale on a Kubota RTV product to judges. Team members competing in the event for Marion were Jenna Helmer, Devin Soyez, Cassie Meyer, and Shelby Cairns.

Marion’s Greenhand team placed second in the greenhand division of the Ag Sales CDE. Individually for Marion, Tristan Williams placed third, Abigail Stuchlik placed sixth, and Tabor Workman placed ninth in the Greenhand division.

Shelby Cairns and Cassie Meyer of the Marion-Florence FFA also competed in the Job Interview Career Development Event the same day.

Participants in the job interview CDE were required to submit a resumé and cover letter prior to the event, conduct a personal interview for a job, complete a job application, and write a follow-up letter for the job after the interview.
