Marion FFA officers meet for planning

Officers from the Marion-Florence FFA chapter participated in their annual chapter leadership retreat July 2 to Aug. 4 in Breckenridge, Colo.

During the retreat they worked on organizing and planning chapter activities for the upcoming school year. The officers also set goals for the year, developed a chapter mission statement and worked on individual leadership skills and teamwork development.

Officers also practiced opening ceremony for official meetings and worked extensively to learn and practice parliamentary procedure.

Time was set aside for recreation, including shopping, mountain hikes, the Peak 8 Fun Park in Breckenridge along with other activities. Members went whitewater rafting through Brown?s Canyon near the end of the retreat.

Participating in the retreat were Nick Meyer, president; Caitlyn Maloney, vice president; Clint Kroupa, secretary; Alicia Maloney, treasurer; Elizabeth Meyer, reporter; Raleigh Kroupa, sentinel; John Nord?quist, parliamentarian, and Kayla Kroupa, student historian.

Mary Maloney and Mark Meyer accompanied the group as sponsors.
