Marion FFA distributes awards at banquet

More than 150 members and guests attended the Marion-Florence FFA parent/member/employer banquet April 26 in the high school cafeteria. Members were recognized for their activities during the year and were presented numerous awards.

Elizabeth Meyer was recognized as the Star Chapter Farmer and Devin Soyez as the Star Chapter Greenhand.

Chapter officers selected for 2016-17 are: president, Cade Harms; reporter, Antone Vinduska; vice president, Aidan Cairns; treasurer, Kaitlyn Goebel; secre­tary, Carley Stapleford; sentinel, Ezra Darnall; parliamentarian, Devin Soyez.

The chapter presented appreciation certificates to Straub International, Prai­rieland Partners Inc., Kim Harms, Hillsboro Indus­tries, Don Molleker, Lee Leiker, Pat Ash, Tod Gor­don, Alan Hett and Gam­bino’s Pizza for their assistance during the year.

Gabryelle Gilliam, the current state FFA sentinel, was the banquet speaker. The chapter presented a slideshow of the year’s highlights after the meal.
