Marion ES crowns spelling champs

Two fifth-grade students at Marion Elementary School have qualified for the county spelling bee. Winner Tori Smith (right) and runnerup Paige May spelled the most words correctly. Rod Garman, MES principal, said 30 students were chosen from the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade classes to take part in the bee. The county bee is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the Marion High School auditorium.
