December ?Students of the Month? at Marion Elementary School are: (front row, left to right) Hannah May, Madison Ruck, both kindergarten; Brandon Lange, first grade; Robyn Anderson, second grade; (middle row) Ethan Darnall, third grade; Meggan Frese, Payton Harms, both fifth grade; Laura Savage, first grade; Tori Allen, second grade; Eli Riggs, first grade; (back row) Paige May, fifth grade; Sydnee Baldwin, Abby Kuster, both sixth grade; Seth Savage, fifth grade; Eli Hett, third grade. Each month, classroom teachers select students from grades kindergarten through sixth grade for outstanding behavior and effort, said Rod Garman, MES principal. They also receive gift certificates from sponsors to include: Carlson?s Grocery Store (free movie rental), Casey?s General Store (free pizza slice), Ampride (free candy bar), The Big Scoop (free ice cream cone), USD 408 (free three-person swim), and Sherbowl Lanes ($1 off open bowling). The criteria used by the teachers to select the students are Marion Elementary?s ?Three Guidelines for Success,? which are to be responsible, be respectful and to do their best.
