Local student learning in Nashville

Nashville is known as ground zero for music makers and music lovers of all stripes.

This semester, Audrey Weinbrenner, a Hillsboro native and Tabor College student, is in Music City making her own kind of music, and loving the experience.

Her studies are taking place at the Contemporary Music Center, an off-campus study program sponsored by Best Semester and the Council for Christian Colleges & Univer?sities.

?I?ve learned a lot about who I am while I?ve been here, and both musically and spiritually I?m finding my own strengths and purposes,? Weinbrenner said.

As an artist, she spends her days writing songs, recording and performing. ?Home?work? includes writing original songs, performing them for live audiences and then recording them in the CMC?s state-of-the-art studio.

?I have so much to say about life, experience and my relationship with Christ,? she said. ?So writing songs about that is the best way I can say exactly what I?m thinking and feeling.?

The Contemporary Music Center is one of 11 semester-away study programs created by the CCCU and BestSemester.com.

Students also have the opportunity to go to China, Russia, Egypt, Latin America, Oxford, England, Washington, D.C., Uganda, Australia and Holly?wood to explore the integration of faith and learning in various disciplines.
