Meghan Jost has been awarded this year?s $500 scholarship from Hillsboro Community Medical Center.

The scholarship, awarded annually since 1993, is intended for a Hillsboro High School graduate who plans to pursue a health-related career.

Jost plans to attend Newman University, where she will study nursing. She intends eventually to earn a master?s degree to become a nurse anesthetist.

In her application, Jost wrote that she enjoys helping others, and academically, has always enjoyed math and science classes.

?Medicine is a field where math and science intermingle, so a health career seemed like a natural fit,? Jost stated.

Participating in an independent study program through HHS and PMA Hillsboro Familty Practice Clinic confirmed her decision, she stated.

She is the daughter of Keith and Cheryl Jost.
