Spellers from Hillsboro Elementary School competed last week to represent their school at the upcoming countywide spelling bee scheduled for Feb. 5 at the Hillsboro High School auditorium.
Fifth-grader Jessi Dalke correctly spelled ?alderman? to clinch first place. Runner-up was fifth-grader Charlie Major and fourth-grader Brody Rader was named alternate.
The following HES students also qualified the local spell-off contest.
