HMS vocalists compete at league

Hillsboro Middle School students ?had a very successful evening? at the Mid-Central Activities Association vocal contest March 31 at Smoky Valley Middle School, according to Lynn Just, vocal instructor.

In the eighth-grade division for ensembles, Girls I, Girls II, Girls III and Boys I each received a ?I? rating. The eighth-grade choir received three ?II? ratings.

Individually, Tyler Burst, Kurtis Klein, Erika Just and Josh Wiebe each received ?I? ratings for their solos, while Kateland Litchfield, Mitchell Dey and Katie Claassen each recevied a ?II.?

In the seventh-grade division for ensembles, Girls I, Girls II and Boys I each received a ?I? rating and Boys II received a ?II.? The seventh-grade choir received three ?II? ratings.

All eight solo entries received a ?I? rating: Danae Bina, Courtney Troyer, Scott Brazil, Erin Wiebe, Cody Delk, Molly Wiebe, Jacob Humber and Maddie Duerksen.
