HMS to receive Gold Level award for state test scores

Hillsboro Middle School will be one of 61 middle schools in the state to receive Gold Level recognition from the Kansas Association of Middle School Administrators at the organization?s annual conference May 2-3 in Topeka.

The Gold Level recognition requires school-wide Standard of Excellence in math or reading, or at least 10 percent growth building-wide in percentage of student meeting proficiency in those two subjects.

?We were fortunate enough to make the Standard of Excellence at the building level in both reading and math,? said Greg Brown, HMS principal.

?This recognition is based on the assessments that were completed last spring. This year?s assessment results will be preliminary until the fall.?
