HMS sixth-graders use math to contribute to high school pep rally

HomecomingHillsboro Middle School sixth-graders display the spirit poster they created during the Hillsboro High School homecoming pep rally Friday afternoon. As part of a math class, students have been learning to use appropriate factor pairs when given an area to display rectangular-shaped designs. ?I asked students to create a computer-generated design, and then we figured out the appropriate dimensions to use?or factor pairs?to create an area of 40 square cards for the sixth-grade class to display on the field.? Because of the snow and cold, the poster debut occurred at the afternoon pep rally in Brown Gymnasium.
