Hillsboro sixth-grader rates well at Duke talent program

Hillsboro Middle School seventh grader Abigail Driggers has been invited to both state and national level recognition ceremonies for her performance in the Duke University Talent Identifica?tion Program.

Of 55,636 students nationwide, Abby was one of 1,894 to score high enough on the ACT or SAT for Grand Recognition. In the state of Kansas, 561 of 977 qualified for state recognition.

Abby qualified for national recognition in both English and reading and her English score was in the top 1 percent of this year?s seventh-grade test takers.

She will attend the ceremony at Duke May 19.

In addition, Abby has been invited to participate in Duke TIPs Center for Sum?mer Studies this June at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. The program helps educators and families determine how advanced their students? academic abilities are.
