Hillsboro High School Chess Guild competes Oct. 12

The Hillsboro High School Chess Guild opened their season at Hutchinson Community College on Saturday, October 12. With mostly 5A & 6A schools competing, Hillsboro rose to the challenge, placing 3rd overall in team standings behind Lawrence Free State and Wichita North. Individually, Jacob Denholm led Hillsboro with an 8th place medal, followed by Jason Latham medaling in 14th place. Everyone had impressive performances in an extremely competitive environment.
