Hillsboro FFA team takes fifth at state event

The Hillsboro FFA chapter captured fifth place in the category of Agricultural Communi?cations at the 91st Kansas FFA Association career development events May 3-5 in Manhattan. Team members (from left) Riley Loewen, Jordyn Siebert and Hannah Bartel posted a team score of 342, to rank behind Southern Coffey (363), Hiawatha (356.5), Buhler (354) and Ellsworth (343). Bartel placed fourth individually. The topic for the event was water quality; tasks included a 20-minute press conference covering the topic; Loewen designed a poster; Siebert developed a video; and Bartel wrote a press release. The girls also had to complete two practicums.
