HHS ‘Seussical’ opens Thursday

Hillsboro High School will present ?Seussical the Musical? at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 9 and 10 in the high school auditorium. Seats can be reserved through the high school office for $5.

The musical is based on the books of T.S. Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. Stories include ?Horton Hears a Who,? ?Horton Hatches an Egg,? ?McElligot’s Pool? and ?The Butter Battle.?

?This is a very talented cast, and they are exciting to watch on stage,? said director Lynn Just.

?I chose this musical to showcase the many wonderful singers we have, and they are doing a great job telling the Seuss stories through song.?

Cast members of ?Seussical? are Audrey Weinbrenner as Cat in the Hat, Kelsey Unruh as Sour Kangaroo, Jessica Elliott as Mayzie, Matt Richert as Schmitz, Maria Loewen as Gertrude, David Vogel as Horton, Dylan Delk as JoJo, Ben Heyen as Mayor, Caitlin Reimer as Mrs. Mayor and Michael Klaassen as Yertle the Turtle, Adam Suderman as Vlad Vladikof.

The following people will play Wickershams: Alex Jost, Evan Just and Jake Kenney.

Bird Girls will be played by Meghan Jost, Lauren Just, Cassie Kroeker, Julia Loewen, Heidi Schroeder and Jet Skiles.

The following people will play Whos: Shelby Koons, Michael Christian, Jennifer Tucker, Jacob Edwards, Anna Woelk, Dakota Peterson, Andrea Bartel and Jonathan Stepanek.

Jungle Citizens and Circus Mcgerkus will be played by Emma Heyen, Briana Loewen, Corissa Bartel, Aubrey Meier, Hayley Pankratz, Mandi Roble, Sara Jones, Heather Goldsby, Jasmine Ensz, Katrina Muzyka and Becky Steketee, Adam Suderman, Alex Jost, Evan Just, Jake Kenney and Michael Klaassen.

The following people will play Cadets: Jake Edwards, Jake Kenney and Dakota Peterson.

Hunches will be played by Briana Loewen, Katrina Muzyka, Becky Steketee and Hayley Pankratz.

The fish will be played by Jasmine Ensz, Sara Jones, Andrea Bartel and Corissa Bartel.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 will be played by Matthew Brown and Gavin Serene.
