The Hillsboro High School Scholars Bowl team compted in McPherson Jan. 12.
The Trojans went 3-3 in pool play and did not advance to bracket play. Hillsboro defeated Centre 65-10, lost to Circle 55-10, lost to Marion 35-30, defeated Inman 30-10, lost to Hutchinson Trinity 60-50 and defeated Hesston 40-30.
Cody Blackketter, Sam Bookless, Ben Gottsch, Bri Loewen and Amanda Roble competed for Hillsboro.
?The team competed well today but lost more of the really close matches,? coach Stuart Holmes said. ?We?vwe been winning most of the close ones, but today didn?t get as many of the key quick answers. Every day and every round is different, so we?ll keep working and be ready for our next opportunity.?
