Hillsboro High School will be presenting ?The Music Man? at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12-14 in the high school auditorium.

?The Music Man? follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill (played by junior Vance Klassen) as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys? band he vows to organize?despite the fact he doesn?t know a trombone from a treble clef.

Hill?s plan to skip town with the cash is foiled when he falls for Marian Parroo, the librarian (played by senior Lydia Kliewer), who transforms him into a respectable citizen by the end of the show.

Other leads are Mar?cellas, played by Jaden Priest; Mrs. Parroo, played by Anna Glanzer; Mayor & Mrs. Shinn played by Dakota Klein and Taytum Miller; and school board members played by Jacob Isaac, Josiah Melton, Brodie Rathbone and Colin Settle. The actors are supported by a cast of 40-plus high school and middle school students and a five-piece band.

Because of extra duties for the middle/high school office staff, tickets are no longer being reserved through the office. Instead, ticket sales are being handled by two students in Nathan Hiebert?s Entrepre?neurship class.

Patrons can order tickets by emailing musicalticketsales@usd410.net or by stopping by one of the following places in Hillsboro: from 3:30-6:45 p.m. Nov. 2-3 at Ebenfeld MB Church office, 107 N. Main; 5:30-9:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the high school gym during parent-teacher conferences; and 3:30-5 p.m. Nov. 10-13 in the Middle School lobby.
