HHS rehearsing for spring production

Rehearsals are under way for the cast of the Hillsboro High School spring comedy, ?Southern Hospitality.?

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27.

Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, ?Southern Hospitality? tells the story of the beloved hometown of Fayro, Texas, which is in danger of disappearing. It?s up to the Futrelle sisters and their friends to save it from extinction.

Ever since the Super SmartMart and the rendering plant closed, folks have been leaving Fayro in droves, but Honey Raye, with a major assist from her former nemesis, Geneva Musgrave, has come up with a possible solution. It seems a salsa manufacturing factory is looking to relocate, and a company representative is headed to Fayro on a scouting mission.

Honey Raye, as president of the Chamber of Commerce, makes promises that are not to be believed in order to woo the rep to choose Fayro.

It?s up to the citizens of Fayro to quickly make her promises a reality. Mayhem and confusion moves to comic tragedy with the Futrelle sisters and the other citizens of Fayro pulling together. But how they save their town is a testament to southern strength and ingenuity?and a recipe for hilarity.

The cast members are Franny Gottsch, Rochelle Cecil, Peyton Loewen, Amanda Roble, Carly Weisbeck , Carter Pankratz, Sam Bookless, Nathan Vogel, Hayley Pankratz, Dylan Delk, Megan Chizek, Bailey Kaufman and Josh Wiebe.

Tickets will cost $5 with no reserved seating. They may be purchased at the high school office.
