HHS livestock team competes

Members of the Hillsboro High School FFA Chapter participated in the Southcentral District Livestock Judging event April 9 at Hutchinson Community College.

Members evaluated eight classes of livestock consisting of cattle, sheep and hogs.

Ethan Frantz placed second in the greenhand division. In the senior division, Ty Goossen placed first overall with a score of 522 of a possible 550. The senior team of Goossen, Alex Jost, Jacob Fish and Brea Allen placed fourth.

In the invitational event, Frantz placed third, Goossen placed fourth and the senior team placed ninth.

Hillsboro High?s livestock judging team will next compete during the first week of May at the state competition in Manhattan.
