The Hillsboro High School forensics team won several awards at the State Forensics Championships and Festival May 5.
In the ?Champs,? Chelsea Bebermeyer placed ninth in Original Oration and 13th in Prose Interpretation. Cody McMillen placed 10th in Poetry Interpretation. Audrey Weinbrenner placed 10th in Dramatic Solo. Abi Humber placed 11th in Informative Speaking.
Other students who had qualified and competed at the championship levels were Jenny Whisenhunt, Jessica Elliott, Joe Fisher, Nolan Dirks and Elissa Richert.
In Festival, Kim Brown received a ?Superior? rating in Prose and Kelsey Unruh received a ?Superior? rating in Poetry.
Brandon McMillen, Natalie Wiens, Rochelle Cecil and Carly Weisbeck all received ?Excel?lent? ratings for their performances.
