Hillsboro FFA members participated in the South Central District Poultry and Food Science contests Thursday, Feb. 13, in Marion. The participants were (from left) Ethan Oborny, Lisa Geis, Valerie Klassen, Vance Klassen, Mesa Merrell, Austin Welch. Oborny, Geis and Valerie Klassen comprised the senior team, which placed sixth overall; individually, Valerie placed fifth in Poultry and eighth in Food Science. Meanwhile, Vance Klassen, Merrell and Welch comprised the Green?hand (freshmen) team, which placed second in Poultry; Vance placed second as an individual.
