The Hillsboro High School FFA chapter competed in the south central district entomology, food science and poultry judging contests Feb. 4 in Marion.
Placing sixth as team in the entomology CDE were John Hein, Jacob Craney, Taryn Mayfield, Mieka Serene and Heather Goldsby.
Competing in the food science CDE were David Winter, Mieka Serene, Taryn Mayfield, Jacob Fish, Heather Goldsby, John Hein, Neal Kaiser and Brandon Brown. Fish placed sixth individually.
In the poultry judging contest, the A-team consisting of Fish, Hein, Craney, Kaiser and Brown placed second out of 12 teams. Individually, Kaiser placed eighth and Fish fourth.
The Greenhand team placed ninth in the contest. Members were Taylor Nikkel, Olivia Kliewer and Landon Herbel. Olivia Kliewer placed ninth in the Greenhand division.
