The Hillsboro High School chess team placed third at the 11-school tournament at Northwest Magnet School in Wichita on Saturday. By finishing among the top 20, two team members earned individual medals: Bartel, who placed 13th, and Blackketter, who placed 18th. More than 50 chess players competed.
