HHS chess team third at Smoky Valley tournament

HMHS Chess Team

The Hillsboro Middle/High School Chess Guild competed in the Smoky Valley Chess Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 28. All participants medaled with three students ranking in the top 10. Section K-12: Jacob Denholm sixth, Jason Latham eighth, Kayla Gunn 12th and Trace Jost 29th. Section K-8: Zachary Denholm eighth, Sonareigh Bell and Nathan Lopez 25th, Joshua Deiner 27th and Jaylin Latham 28th. Additionally, section K-12 high school students earned third place.
