Heyen wins piano competition

EliseHeyen601.jpg Elise Heyen, sophomore at Hillsboro High School and daughter of Bruce and Janelle Heyen, won first place in the advanced division of the Anderson Piano Concerto Competition Dec. 6 at Hutchinson. Heyen performed the First Movement of the Piano Concerto D Major by Franz Josephy Haydn and was accompanied on the second piano by her father. By winning, she qualified to play the concerto with the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra in February. She studies with Beverly Richards.
