HES book fair set for March 7-14

The Hillsboro Elementary School library will be hosting another Scholastic book fair along with Family Reading Night in early March.

The book fair will be open from Wednesday, March 7, through Wednesday, March 14. The student shop day is Friday, March 9.

Starting March 2, supporters can visit the school’s online book fair. Connect online from the above link found on the USD 410 homepage. The online fair will continue through March 22.

The Scholastic “All for One” books program will include a principal challenge. Students are encouraged to bring loose change and bills to the library.

If the money collected exceeds $200, Principal Evan Yoder will dress up as a chicken and do the “Chicken Dance.”

The money will be used to purchase books from the fair for another school in need of books. Scholastic will then match the amount in books to donate to children in need.

A related fundraising event will occur from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, when Wendy’s will pass on 20 percent of their sales to the Hillsboro Elementary Library.

The dinner is being held in conjunction with the library’s annual Family Reading Night, the same evening.
