Goessel High musicians qualify 20 entries for state

Goessel High School musicians participated in the 2007 Regional Solo/Ensemble Music Festival held March 31 at Tabor College in Hillsboro and qualified 20 entries for the KSHSAA State 1A Solo/Ensemble Music Festival to be held in Wichita in late April.

Those students earning the top rating of I or “Superior” were the Brass Choir, Girls Vocal Ensemble, Kristin Unruh (vocal), Flute Ensemble I, Flute Ensemble II, Kristin Unruh (flute), Amy Brubaker (vocal), Elbiata, Laura Unruh (vocal), Joylin Hall (vocal), Kory Hiebert (vocal), Laura Unruh (clarinet), Cameron Voth (vocal), Amy Brubaker (clarinet), Janessa Wedel (clarinet), Clarinet Quartet, Nathan Amstutz (vocal), Chrystiana Voth (vocal), Austin Unruh (vocal) and Ryan Goertzen (vocal).

Those students or groups earning a II or “Excellent” rating were Bryant Miller (vocal), Chrystiana Voth (clarinet), Boys Vocal Ensemble, Sara Sebring (vocal), Kristen Hoffman (french horn), Austin Unruh (saxophone), Sam Lehtman (vocal), Isaac Fast (vocal), Caitlin Goertzen (vocal), and Courtney Berkholz (vocal).

The students are under the instruction of choir director Greg Bontrager and band director Bud Meisel.
