The Goessel FFA Chapter reached a historic finish at the South Central District Speech Career Development Events Feb. 5 at Chaparral High School.
Members earned 12 medals and two individual championships on the way to earning Goessel?s first district speech team championship.
In extemporaneous public speaking, members had 30 minutes to prepare a four- to six-minute speech. Students drew topics at the beginning of their preparation time and were limited to a book of compiled research conducted prior to the event, without knowing the possible topics.
