Goessel Christmas program is Dec. 15

Goessel Elementary School students will perform their Christmas program at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, in the elementary school gymnasium, 500 E. Main St.

Kindergarten through third grade students will present ?The Nutcracker Suite? by Tschaikovsky, said Marcia Brubaker, K-5 music teacher. Third-grade students will be featured as narrators.

Goessel High School senior Sierra Dirksen will dance one of the segments.

This presentation, she said, coincides with a trip to see ?The Nutcracker Suite? planned by the Goessel Parent-Teacher Organization.

Students in fourth and fifth grades will present Christmas choral pieces including the Italian carol, ?Dormi, Dormi,? and the familiar carol, ?Winter Wonderland.?

The kindergarten through fifth-grade choir will lead the audience in ?O Come, All Ye Faithful? and ?Away in a Manger.? In addition, the fifth-grade band will have its debut performance at the concert, said Mike Connell, band director. Their pieces will include ?Jingle Bells? and ?Ode to Joy.? Many of the students will be featured on solos, he said.

The community is invited to join in the celebration. For more information, call 620-367-8118.
