Fourteen members of the Goessel High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter attended the District G Fall Leadership Academy Oct. 25 in Lyons.
The event drew 500 participants from 24 schools.
Speaker Michael Smith, national FCCLA president from Good?land High School, challenged participants to become more active in FCCLA by developing leadership skills and becoming more family focused.
Throughout the day, students were informed about state and national programs and community activities. Students who earned state or national awards in the 2005-06 school year were recognized.
Attending from Goessel were Robin Bartel, Amy Brubaker, Brittany Dirksen, Sierra Dirksen, Tricia Fensky, Aspen Frey, Kylee Nikkel, Friederike Noltenius, Lisa Rohner, Jamie Spoonemore, Kristin Unruh, Laura Unruh, Chrystiana Voth and Rochelle Webb. Ruth Goertzen, advisor, also attended.
